Reading Retreats at A Place to Read

This month sees the launch of the latest set of retreats on offer from Wendy and myself: reading retreats and walking retreats. It's been a busy time getting these together but it's wonderful to finally be able to get the word out and start building the kind of reputation for excellence which we have achieved with our existing Writing and Shakespeare retreats. The journey begins here!

On our reading retreats, which begin with three weekend events this autumn, we will be recommending a short novel or novella for guests to read and discuss over the course of the stay. For those who choose to participate in this activity we will endeavour to provide the book at no extra cost and the Nic will host the discussions. The aim is to share our love of reading and stories. Aside from this, the retreat will also feature an afternoon tea on the Saturday and a movie night on the Sunday evening. Wendy's delicious meals and refreshments will be served as usual throughout the weekend!

Since we bought Bron y Graig in 2022, we have been moving rapidly towards our long-stated dream of running a world-class retreat centre based on friendly, homely, personal service. Feedback from our well-established writing and Shakespeare retreats suggests we have already partly achieved that ambition, and now we hope the next phase of our development will add to and even enhance our reputation. We particularly look forward to welcoming new friends who, in turn, look forward to returning to us on a regular basis to enjoy the unique delights of Bron Y Graig and our North Wales location.
